Daily Update: D3, April 29th & 30th 2013

The D3 gang rehearses for NDC. They are happy to see Rey when he joins them for rehearsals. Rey notices that Swayam's mood wasn't the best. He asks Swayam if anything was bothering him. Swayam asks him about the lunch with Mr. Shikhawat. Rey tells him that Taani forced him to go. Swayam understands that his friend did not lie to him. Sharon is glad to see that ReYam's issues are sorted out. Just when things are getting back to normal, a storm is brewing in Swayam's house. Mr. Shikhawat asks Taani how everything at college is going. She tells him that she's nervous and tense about her first assignment - NDC eliminations. When he hears that, he tells Taani that he will accompany her for her first assignment. Taani protests, but he insists that he will be there. Taani wonders what will happen if Mr. Shikhawat find out that Rey is a dancer after being so impressed by him. She comes to the conclusion that he will not let them be together.

Taani goes to college with a heavy heart. She meet the D3 gang during their rehearsals. The team members are still angry with her for telling the VP about their event. Rey notices that the team stops and  find Taani in the room. Taani tells him that she needs to talk to him immediately. She tells Rey about Mr. Shikhawat going to the NDC eliminations. She tells Rey that he will have to stay away from the eliminations. Rey gets upset and yells at Taani for stealing his dream from him and storms off while the rest of the team continues their rehearsals. I can't believe that Taani would even tell Rey to skip the NDC eliminations. Suddenly, winning NDC doesn't matter to her as much as her Tauji's impression of Rey. After the team finish their routine, Vicki tells the gang that Rey and Taani are both missing. The team wonders what happened.

Later, Swayam and Sharon get a text from Rey saying that he will not be participating in the NDC eliminations. The rest of the team are stunned. They wonder why Rey has taken such a drastic step. Vicki tells the gang it must because of Taani. As the day passes, all of the team members try to get a hold of Rey but to no avail.

The team wonder how they are going to perform with Rey. Taani tells the team that she has to brief them for the eliminations. Vicki asks her if she noticed that Rey is missing. Bharat questions her if she is going to yell at him just like she yells at the rest of team. Taani tells them that she will talk to Rey. Vicki tells her to cut the act and stop pretending. Taani gets offended and tells the team that they can't be rude to her. Sharon, who's had enough of Taani's lies, tells her that she deserves to be treated badly by the team for what she's done. Sharon makes her understand that she's been very selfish by asking Rey to give up the one thing he loves. Once again, its another point for Sharon in the Taani vs. Sharon war. Aashi steps in and tells her that by keeping Rey out of the elimination, she hurting everyone's careers not just Rey's.

Taani realizes how selfish she's been. She leaves the room crying. She doesn't want Rey to perform because she feels that even if Rey doesn't perform, the St. Louis team will do well. What sort of logic is that? When it is convenient for her then Rey can perform but if it not convenient for her then Rey cannot perform? How does she expect the team to forgive her for her selfishness? This story arch  has certainly brought Taani's major character flaw to the forefront. Whenever Taani is in a difficult situation, she always tries to lie her way through it. When Taani was questioned about her feelings for Rey, she lied and said Shivam was her boyfriend. When team Weaklings was looking for their 6th dancer, she lied and made a fake audition tape just so she get closer to Rey. I hope that after this story arch culminates, Taani realizes that lies are not the easy way out.

The next morning, Mr Shikhwat throws Taani another curve ball - he's one of the judges. This is funny because the man obviously is not a fan of dance but yet he decides to be the judge of an event his niece is going to. Anyway, Taani is shocked.

PS - I have a feeling all this is happening because Rey aka Amar was filming for Nach Baliye - Shreeman vs. Shreemati! I like how the writers of the show make Rey's absence justified by the story line. Anyway, now that Nach Baliye has ended, I'm hoping Amar will be more visible...

Daily Update: D3, February 5th & 6th, 2013

First off, let me start by apologizing for my missing post. Yesterday was just a really busy day and by the time I got back home, I was just too tired to come up with a coherent post. So to make it up, I found  some cute little videos and interviews that I'll link in this post.

Firstly, I found a cool video about Shakti's calendar launch. This is her second calendar and this year she has completely outdone herself. Last year's calendar was all about a dancer while this year's calendar has a distinctly India theme. The pictures are amazing and Shakti is looks every bit the Gods and Goddesses that she portrays. Here is a link to the launch video. You'll see Sneha aka the old Sharon, Vinti aka Vishaka and Alisha aka Neha talk about the calendar launch and Shakti herself. Along with the calendar, Shakti and her talented sisters Neeti and Mukti also produced this amazing dance video. Take a look...

Here is a link to Shakti's 2012 calendar pics. Click here for her 2013 calendar pics. Shakti has certainly come a long way since her Dance India Dance days and I wish her nothing but more success.

Moving on to Shakti's counterpart, Amar. I found this interview of Amar where he talks about how he's not such a big star compared to other contestants of Nach Baliye 5. It was interesting to hear his talk about that. It's true that he isn't as 'big' as the other stars on the show but he does have his loyal fan following. Ever since Dance India Dance, Amar and Shakti have made a place for themselves in the hearts of people.

Amar and Charlie have been doing a good job on Nach Baliye so far. They were even the most voted couple one week. It just goes to show that as long as one entertains the audience, the votes will keep coming in. Popularity is not the only factor that brings in the votes.

Now let's talk about the episodes. Every thing goes haywire. Nikaf quits the team because he didn't have his way. That caused the AVP to pull the plug on St. Louis entry into Nokia Indiafest. Seems like she wanted a reason to pull the team out and Nikaf's quitting provided her with one. The rest of the team members are shattered to learn that they will not be going. All their hard work flushed down the drain. Sharon is shocked to see that the dancers are so down. She tells them that they should protest the AVP's decision. Just because one person quits the team, it doesn't mean that the other members won't be able to cover for that person. The new dancers question Sharon as to why she is so passionate about it considering she isn't dancing with them. Sharon tells the team that they have to fight for dance. Rey, Swayam, Nilesh and Aashi agree but newbies decide that breaking the rules would be too risky for them. They back out. Now Sharon, Rey, Aashi, Swayam and Nilesh are left by themselves. They try to figure out a plan that will take them to Goa for Indiafest.

Check out the link for the full episode video...

Rey tells the group that he can't hide their plan from Taani and storms out. Later on that evening, Sharon calls him and tells him that he has to spend time with her. She then proceeds to kidnap Rey to Goa! That girl always gets what she wants! The gang finally arrives in Goa and reminisce about their previous visit to Indiafest. After the gang arrives in Goa, Sharon and Rey start arguing. Rey was not happy about having to hide all of this from Taani. Swayam tries to handle the situation. He talks to Rey and tells him that he shouldn't hide this from Taani. He tells Rey that if Taani found out from someone else instead of him, she would be very hurt. So Rey calls Taani but before he could say anything to her, she hangs up. Swayam tries to apologize to Sharon for being too pushy. Sharon as usual ignores Swayam and all of his cute little apologetic glances.

Aashi tries to find out more about the registration process. She tells the group that everything can be done but the performing group has to have at least 6 dancers. Just when they start to lose hope, Vicki arrives. He tells them that they couldn't just sit back and watch their friends suffer. The entire gang comes to Goa to support them.

And finally, before I leave, here is what we can expect in the forthcoming episodes. Looks like loads of Dil Dostii and Dance! Can't wait to see all the dancing, romance and comedy!

Now that the Indiafest track in finally on air, there is more coming up from the team of D3 according to this article. I'm hoping it's something super romantic and exciting. Since it's going to be Valentine's Day, I'm hoping it's something super amazing! Can't wait!

Daily Update - D3, January 24th, 2013

First off, let me apologize for being late! I was working yesterday and when I got home I had the worst headache! I just couldn't think! I just needed to sleep.

Now that I got that out of the way, let's focus on the episode in question. The VP introduces 4 dancers to Rey, Swayam, Aashi and Nilesh. He tells them that they are going to be a part of the new St. Louis dance team. ReYam realize that they have a huge challenge on their hands and decide to face it head on. Meanwhile, all of the other boys and girls go to the rehearsal hall and reminisce about their pat experiences. They are saddened by the fact that they won't be able to go to India Fest because they chose other avenues. That was a really touching scene. Each dancer relived his or her glory days and craved to have that fun back in their current situation. I'm sure that in the future episodes they will realize that it is indeed dance that is their true calling.

Just when they are leaving the hall, the new members of the dance team walk in. One of the guys clearly has an attitude problem and picks a fight with Vickie. And suddenly everyone is arguing. That's when ReYam, Nilesh and Aashi walk in. They calm everyone down and diffuse the situation. Swayam introduces the rest of the gang as the "Ex Team Members" while Rey asks the newbies to respect them.  I wonder what will happen to these new dancers considering they are not the ones who will be performing at India Fest.

I'm glad to see Lipsa! Check out Lipsa do her thing! She was a contestant on Dance India Dance season 3 just like Sneha Gupta aka Aashi. It's fun to spot DID alums on Dil Dostii Dance. I'm glad to see that they get lots of opportunities because of their participation in such a huge dance show.

Moving on, TaaRey have their first lover's tiff. Taani is late for their bike ride and Rey gets upset. It's cute and I couldn't stop saying "Aww" when I watched their scenes. I couldn't help comparing their tiff with KriYansh tiffs. I feel like KriYansh tiffs were very childish but TaaRey are a bit more mature. They are innocent and cute but certainly not childish. I feel like a certain amount of heartbreak allows them to appreciate the simple things in life much more. They don't take each other for granted and truly understand one another. KriYansh was like puppy love but TaaRey is more of a romance. I can't wait to see what happens next.

So here's a snapshot of what happened in the episode...

Just like Shantanu and Sneha were christened TanHa, I hereby christen Shantanu and Vrushika ShanIka. And to all those ShanIka fans out there, here's something special for you. Looks like ShanIka are going to be making an appearance at an event in Hyderabad. Check out the video for more details...

PS: Don't forget to vote for CharMar aka Charlie & Amar (if you like their performance, of course)! You can call or vote online here.
