Suvreen Guggal - Topper of the year

Suvreen Guggal - Topper of the year, is about Suvreen Guggal and the trials she faces at Divendra Pratap Singh College (DPSC). Suvreen tops the board exams in her small town of Kathgodam. She scored an awesome 89%. When she finds out that she tops the boards, she realizes that she can finally make her parents dream come true. Her parents have always dreamed that their daughter will be a student at DPSC, India's premier college. She is excited when she travels all the way to Delhi to get admission at DPSC but when she gets there she finds out that the cutoff percentage for admission is 99%. 

She couldn't watch her parent's dream, her dream of getting into DPSC just wash away. She decided to stand up to the authorities, namely Savitiri Singh, the principal of DPSC. Her friends Annie, Naro and many others join her in her fight. Later on Yuvraj Singh, the sports secretary, decided to support Suvreen and rallies the student body to stand by Suvreen. Ultimately, Saviriti Singh is forced into lowering the cutoff and Suvreen is finally admitted into DPSC.

Just when she thought that she just won her biggest battle, she is forced into facing another one - ragging. The DPSC tradition of seniors ragging the juniors was in full swing. The poor juniors are forced to do crazy things like dance, sing, bow down and wear certain clothes all in the name of ragging. During one such incident, a junior Hegde, complains to Savitri Singh. When she goes to the college to investigate, she sees Suvreen running in the corridor. The next morning she summons Suvreen to her office and questions her about the alleged ragging. Suvreen lies to save the seniors from expulsion.

The seniors call a truce, but Riya, the cultural secretary and Suvreen's arch nemesis, decides that Suvreen has one last task that she has to complete. Suvreen has to come to the Fresher's Night party with Yuvraj. Even though Yuvraj helped Suvreen gain the support of the student body, he still ragged Suvreen. They were certainly not friends and Suvreen had no intension to go to the party with him. But when Naro and Annie insist that they won't go to the party without her, she is forced to go. Yuvraj finally agrees to go with her but Riya creates a misunderstanding between them and Suvreen ends up going to the party with Aneesh Nair, a PhD student and a student counselor. Yuvraj misunderstands Suvreen and decides to do all he can to get her expelled from DPSC. He messes up her presentations, steals her notes but every time Suvreen loses hope, Aneesh helps her focus and realize her potential.

Just when things start to settle down in DPSC, Gogoi enters the picture. Gogoi is Naro's boyfriend. He is extremely possessive and abusive. When Naro breaks up with him, he devises a plan to make her life hell. He gets his friend to take compromising pictures of Naro and posts them on her Facebook page. He also vandalizes the college writing insulting slurs on the walls about Naro. Seeing all this, Naro tries to commit suicide. Suvreen rallies the student body to do something about Naro's situation after Naro is wrongfully expelled from DPSC. When the police inspector states that Naro is to blame for wearing a short skirt, Suvreen questions his thinking. She holds a protest and the student body support her. Yuvraj  and Suvreen work together to get justice for Naro. Finally Naro is re-admitted into DPSC.

Realizing the popularity that Suvreen has among the student body, Gyanesh, a fellow student plans to make Suvreen the face of his campaign for college president as per a suggestion from Aneesh. Aneesh planned to use Gyanesh to get his revenge from Savirti devi. She had wronged his family and he came back to DPSC to get his revenge. He planed to use Suvreen as a pawn in his revenge scheme. Gyanesh appoints Suvreen as a secretary in his cabinet. Yuvraj and the rest of Suvreen's friends are stunned by Gyanesh's appointment. Suvreen reluctantly accepts the nomination and pledges to fight for the rights of the students. Yuvraj tries to warn Suvreen about Gyanesh's manipulative ways but Suvreen doesn't listen. Finally when she realizes that Gyanesh manipulated her into stealing Yuvraj's nomination form does she realize how manipulative Gyanesh had been. Over the course of the campaign, Suvreen realizes that Yuvraj trusts her and that her first impression of him was wrong.

Slowly but surely, Suvreen and Yuvraj become friends. From just friends, they become each other's best friends. Manu and Rathi are stunned by Yuvraj's friendship with Suvreen. After a while all of their friends start teasing them and start calling them YuvReen! After a while Suvreen realizes that she has fallen for Yuvraj but Yuvraj doesn't feel the same way at first. When Suvreen confesses her feelings, Yuvraj reluctantly tells her that he does not feel the same way. A heartbroken Suvreen begins to ignore Yuvraj and eventually breaks off her friendship with him.
