Daily Update - D:3, December 31st, 2012

Let me start by wishing all of you a very Happy New Year! Hope you folks have an awesome year ahead filled with lots of love and success!

Now let's get back to D:3. So now the boys have watched their opponents and studied their style. Swayam immediately gets to work and figures out a strategy to give them the upper hand even though Welham has a really good team. Swayam ingeniously figures out that their strength, dance, will work in their favor. He enlists the girls - Simmi, Rinni, Neha and Aashi, to help them out with their mission. Rey is like the bookends of this episode - he appears in the beginning and in the end. The middle is all about Swayam and the boys. Taani is 'sick' and stays away from the boys. She also tells Swayam and she will be coordinating with him and not Rey. I wonder if there is going to be a huge TaaRey romance at the end of this basketball track. Other than that I am eagerly awaiting the return of Sharon!

So here's the snippet of today's episode...

Weekly Update: Suvreen Guggal - Topper of the year, December 24 - 27

So lately, I happened to watch Suvreen Guggal and I just fell in love with it! I love the concept of a young a fresh college-based drama. I also like that it is not all fluff. There is a lot more to the show than just young love, heartbreak and growing up. The show tackles major issues like eve-teasing and ragging all without sounding too preachy. I for one love Suvreen. She is a strong an independent girl who knows what she wants and has no qualms about working hard to achieve her dreams. She is the quintessential topper - good at everything that she does. So since I loved the show so much, I decided why not do a weekly update? As it is, I don't have an D:3 related post on Fridays. It would be fun recapping the week for Suvreen Guggal. So here is the recap of the week...

The week starts out with Yuvraj finally realizing that he should tell Suvreen how he feels about her. So her plans a special proposal for Suvreen along with Lathi and Manu. He recalls all the times he met Suvreen and is surprised that he has fallen for her. Manu and Lathi are glad that Yuvraj has finally decided to act on his feelings. All through the week he acts odd when he is around 'Topper' to the point where even Suvreen starts noticing his weird behavior. It's so cute watching their scenes! I can't wait for the moment when Yuvraj finally confesses his felling. It's funny that he feels insecure around RC. He decides that he needs to be 'hi-fi' to impress Suvreen and hence enlists the help of Alisha. On the other hand, Vivan tries his best to make RC realize that he loves Suvreen but RC keeps resisting the idea since Suvreen is his student. Vivan comes up with a plan to make RC realize that Suvreen means a lot to him and that he does indeed love her. In the end, RC finally admits that he does have feelings for Suvreen and that she is very special to him.

Suvreen's younger sister Jasleen aka Baby comes to visit Suvreen and the family. Suvreen is very happy to see her and promises to take her around in Delhi. Baby on the other hand is just as excited to see Suvreen and Delhi. She is young and fresh-faced. She is innocent and naive. Suvreen takes to college and introduces her to all of her friends. Jasleen makes quite an impression of all the boys of the college! Some boys start to harass her but Yuvraj comes to her rescue and she is instantly impressed by him. I have a feeling this Yuvraj-Suvreen-RC love triangle is going to turn into a love square or parallelogram with the addition of Jasleen!

Meanwhile at college, all the students are working hard to find a social issue for their social awareness campaign. Naro looks uncomfortable and sad. When her friends ask her why she is sad she breaks down and tells them that she still hasn't gotten over Gogoi. Gogoi and Naro were in a relationship. He misused Naro's pictures and harassed her. Suvreen and Yuvraj staged a huge protest at college and Gogoi got what he deserved. When Alisha hears Naro's story she tells the group that they have found their social issue. The group decide to take up eve-teasing and women's safety as their social issue. It will be fun to see what the group does for the campaign.

So without further adieu here is a quick wrap up video of the week...

Daily Update - D:3, December 27th, 2012

Now that we all know who is going to be playing Sharon, Cinevistaas has decided to let all of us know more about the girl playing Sharon aka Vrushika. We get to know about all the hard work that goes behind all the glitz and glam. As per the video, Sharon should be making an appearance some time next week. I'm betting it is going to be on Thursday, Januray 3rd, as we all know how Palki likes to keep fans waiting. Once again, I wish Vrushika all the best and hope that she is able to recreate the SwaRon magic and chemistry.

Enough about the new Sharon. Let's get to the update of today's episode. As you all know, Amar is busy with Nach Baliye. Hence from now on we will not be seeing him on screen all the time. For example in today's episode we see Rey and Taani reflecting on their latest misunderstanding/argument. We see Rey a total of twice in the entire episode. I guess we'll have to get used to that for the time being. Although I am glad that Rey finally realized that Taani does mean something to him and I hope that he is able to make things right between them.

On the other hand, the boys are upset that their 'girlfriends' are impressed by the Welham boys. Their Facebook statuses are all about the Welham boys and their Facebook walls are full of their pictures. Seeing this Swayam gets a brilliant idea. He comes up with a plan to study the Welham boys so that they know what they are up against. The boys as usual are their goofy selves and they totally make up for the lack of Rey! Along with the boys I have to mention the girls - Neha, Rinni, Simmi and Ashi are also hilarious. After watching the Welham boys do their thing, the boys realize that they have a rough ride ahead of them. From the pace of the story, I say most of next week is going to be about the basketball match. I'm hoping for an intense fight to the end. Here's wishing the boys all the best!

Here is a snippet of today's episode...

Daily Update - D:3, December 26th, 2012

In yesterday's post I linked a video of the D:3 cast interview by the folk over at India Forums. Now for the official Sharon revelation by the folks over at Channel V. So once again, I wish Vrushika all the best and I hope she is able to create awesome chemistry with Shantanu.

Just in case all of you were wondering, the D:3 boys are working hard on their basketball skills. As all of you know, they are primarily dancers so expecting them to know how to play basketball is a bit much. Yes as I mentioned earlier, they did play basketball in the show but it wasn't on a professional level. So now the boys are practicing for hours just so they can look good. Here are the boys talking about their crazy schedules and practices and rehearsals. These boys sure do work hard. And in case you're wondering where Rey is, let me remind you, Rey will be MIA since he is currently participating in Nach Baliye with his girlfriend Charlie.

Moving on with the update of today's episode. The boys finally get their revenge on the Welham boys for their dirty pranks. It was hilarious! It was a good break from all the tension and drama that has been a staple in the show currently. On the other hand, Rey and Taani are back to square one. Every time I hope they will sort things out and clear the air, things become more complicated. Whenever Taani tries to talk to Rey, he treats her so rudely. I dont understand why he doesn't just tell her how he feels so she can tell him how she feels! Is it that hard? I have a feeling he creators are saving the TaaRey romance for next year. So far we've all been seeing Swayam sending texts and calling Sharon. I can't wait till Sharon finally appears on the show and the SwaRon story is back on track. I have a feeling Sharon will make an appearance towards the end of this whole basketball track that is going on, which will be next year considering how slow things are going.

So here is a snippet of today's episode...

Favorite Top 10 Scenes: Dill Mill Gayye

As a loyal Dill Mill Gayye follower, I have certain scenes that are just burned into my memory. Dill Mill Gayye was a lovely show about friendship and love. There were several love stories interwoven together in the show - some successful while others not so much. There was laughter, romance and  heart-break, all seamlessly interwoven together.

So without further adieu, these are the top 10 scenes from Dill Mill Gayye that I will never forget...

Armaan and Riddhima finally confess their love for each other. What started out as a prank between Anjali, Riddhima's older sister, and Armaan turns into a passionate love story between Armaan and Riddhima. Armaan realizes that he has fallen for his 'basket' way before Riddhima realizes that she too has feelings for him. He tries many plans to make her confess her feelings to him but in vain. When she finally confesses how she truly feels for him, I love the way he reacts. When I saw this scene, I had tears in my eyes! This scene just oozes of romance. Both Karan Singh Grover and Shilpa Anand performed this scene brilliantly.

Dangerous things happen to girls when they are high on Bhang! As proof, here is what happened to Riddhima as result of consuming loads of Bhang. Armaan knows that Riddhima has feelings for him but she just does not want it to be known. So she avoids him or fights with him or finds reasons to be away from him. On Holi, Armaan finally gets a chance to find out what she truly thinks about him. And boy, she does not disappoint!

Other than Armaan and Riddhima, I also enjoyed watching Rahul and Muskaan. They were from the same town and knew each other before coming to Sanjeevani. I liked how they went from hating the sight of each other to waiting to catch a sight of each other. There was just so much tension and passion between them. Although Rahul and Muskaan's love story did not have a happy ending, they did share several passionate and heart-breaking incidents. They wanted to be together but destiny conspired against them. This scene highlights their heart-breaking love story perfectly. Drashti Dhami and Mayank Anand has so much chemistry between them.

After Rahul and Muskaan, my second most favorite love story on Dill Mill Gayye would be that of Abhimanyu aka Abhi and Nikita aka Nikki. Nikita is introduce as Armaan's best friend from his college days. Later we realize that she is in love with Armaan and came to Sanjeevani just to be close to him. When she finds out about Armaan and Riddhima, she supports him. Abhi, on the other hand, initially had a soft corner for Riddhima. Later he too realizes that Riddhima is with Armaan and he backs off. Abhi and Nikki had a roller coaster like relationship. Armaan is very protective about Nikki and does not approve of her closeness to Abhi. Only after Riddhima makes him understand that Abhi and Nikki love each other does he finally approve of their relationship. The scene above highlights their complicated relationship. Shweta Gulati and Amit Tandon played their parts perfectly. They had the right amount of tension, passion and chemistry.

Anjali is Riddhima's older sister. Her aim to be a famous doctor just like her father Dr. Shashank. She is  extremely focused on her career and has no time for relationships. Atul on the other hand is a kind and gentle guy. He is understanding and caring. From the moment he meets Anjali, he falls for her. His affection for her is not hidden from the other interns. The other boys tease him all the time but he never takes their words to heart. He finally musters up the courage to ask Anjali out on a date. When he confesses his feelings to her, she tells him that she does not feel the same way. His heart break is so evident which makes it a very touching scene.

How could I stay away from all the super-romantic moments of Armaan and Riddhima for too long? In the first clip, Riddhima is home alone and Armaan pays her a surprise visit. What happens next is pure romance. Also used in this clip is Armaan and Riddhima's signature song "Ishq Leta Hai Kaise Imtehaan." The second video is another intensely romantic moment between Riddhima and Armaan but this time around, Riddhima initiates the romance. The third scene takes place after Riddhima gets married to Sid for the second time. Here Armaan makes her realize that she will never truly be able to love Sid. He makes her realize that she will always love him.

Dill Mill Gayye had its share of Riddhimas. Shilpa Anand started out playing Riddhima. She chose not to renew her contract with the production house and quit the show after a year. After she left, Sukirti Kandpal was roped in to play Riddhima. After a year, she too quit the show stating that nothing significant was happening in the love story of Armaan and Riddhima. Finally, Jennifer Winget was brought in. She played Riddhima the longest. Even through all the switches, Karan Singh Grover was able to keep the chemistry with all three leading ladies scorching as witnessed in the series of videos above. But if I had to pick, Karan had the best chemistry with Jennifer. No wonder the two got hitched a year after the show ended!

During the second season of Dill Mill Gayye, we are introduced to new interns - Siddhant aka Sid, Tamanna, Naina, Yuvraj, JP, Raj, Suvarna aka Sue and Shilpa. Initially Sid was paired with Tamanna. Tamanna's character was written out of the show to make room for the return of Riddhima. After Tamanna leaves, Sid is then paired with Riddhima. I really liked Sid with Tamanna. In fact their story reminded me of how Riddhima and Armaan started out. This is one of my favorite Sid and Tamanna scenes.

Continuing with the season 2 interns, Yuvraj is paired with Naina. For Naina, it is love at first sight. From the first moment she sets her eyes on Yuvraj, she has a crush on him. Yuvraj comes to Sanjeevani for a special purpose. He has a lot on his mind and pretends to ignore Naina even though he too has feelings for her. He does not want her to get involved with his problems. When he finally tells her about his problems, she helps him face them and get over them. They share a passionate relationship that reminded me a bit of Rahul and Muskaan.

So there you have it folks - My Favorite Top 10 Scenes of Dill Mill Gayye. Hope you enjoyed the show through all of it's ups and downs as much as I did.

Daily Update: D:3, December 25th, 2012

First off, Merry Christmas to all you fellow D:3 watchers! Can't believe that Christmas is already here! time truly flies! So let's see what happened last year during the Christmas Season...

Shakti and Amar looked so cute as they decorated that tiny little Christmas tree! This year for Christmas, D:3 is giving us a huge Christmas present - The New Sharon aka Vrushika Mehta. So it's not Urvashi after all. Here's wishing her the best of luck. She has huge shoes to fill and I sincerely hope that she is able to shine just like Sneha was able to before her. Can't wait to see her in action with Shantanu!

Apart from finally revealing the identity of the new Sharon, the D:3 cast also decorated a Christmas tree this year as well. They also wish all their views and fans a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Moving on, let's get to the daily update. The Welham boys make a splash. The girls are impressed with them. The students of St. Louis are awed by their attitude. In short, the boys have their work cut out for them. The boys finally make their way to the St. Louis dorm aka Sanjevani for all you Dill Mill Gayye fans. Sidenote - I love how Cinevistaas recycles their sets!

Anyway, if there was any doubt that the Welham boys were jerks, todays episode gave us proof of jerkiness. First, Veer, their captain, almost punches Swayam because he couldn't take a joke and then he behaves like a perv with Taani. What a pervy jerk. I can't wait for Rey beat his pervy butt. The Welham boys also pull a dirty prank on the St. Louis boys. Really? These guys are supposed to be the best collegiate basketball team in the region and they have to resort to all this nastiness and pranks? Either these guys win because they play dirty or they scare the opposing team with their 'tactics.' Either way, the St. Louis boys will not go down without a fight. I can't wait to see all the masti that ensues.

Finally Taani and Rey are going to have a heart-to-heart, or so I think. Taani finally confronts Rey about his attitude towards her. Good going Taani! Rey as usual is a mean to her and tells her that she doesn't mean anything to him.

So without further adieu here is a snippet of today's episode...

Daily Update - D:3, 24th December 2012

It's Christmas Eve folks! Hope all of you have an amazing Christmas and an exciting New Year! So for all you loyal Dil Dostii Dance fans, I have a present...

As I predicted, Sharon is finally going to be making an appearance sometime soon. I say we'll all get to see the new Sharon either by the end of this week or the start of the next week. I know for certain that Sharon will make an entrance after this whole basketball track boils over. For all of you wondering, the speculation is that Urvashi Gandhi, Dance India Dance Season 3 alum, will be the new Sharon. Here's a video of Urvashi in action. She's absolutely beautiful and amazingly graceful but I can't really picture her as Sharon.

As I mentioned earlier, it is all speculation. We'll all find out once Sharon actually makes an appearance on the show. Till then we'll just have to wait and watch...

Moving on, let's talk about today's episode. We're back to square one with Rey and Taani. As usual Rey is being his jerky self to Taani. I like how he constantly misunderstands her and then turns around and accuses her of not understanding him! It works both ways Rey. You don't take an effort to understand Taani, and in turn poor Taani has to bear all of your bad behavior. So the Welham's team finally arrives at St. Louis. As a loyal D:3 viewer, you know that whenever an other college team is visiting, they always turn out to be jerks. That holds true with the Welham boys as well. They are cocky meanies. Can't wait for the St. Louis boys to teach them a lesson!

Poor Taani has to juggle taking care of the visiting team and Rey's ego trips. Wonder when she's going to have her breakdown! Swayam on the other hand also has a lot on his plate. This brother-sister duo sure do work hard.

So here's a snippet of today's episode...

Daily Update - D:3, December 20th, 2012

The boys finally get more info about the impending basketball game. The AVP tells them that the Welham team will be staying the college dorms a couple days before the game. She also tells them they too will have to stay in the dorms with the Welham team. The boys are surprised by this but agree to it nonetheless. They realize that this game is not going to be 'friendly' match after all.

The boys vow to be good hosts to the Welham team. They practice long and hard under Swayam's guidance. After the practice session, they feel prepared to face the Welham team. Swayam and Rey as usual have their bromantic moments! They are just too adorable together. I love the way they understand each other and complement each other. Their friendship has blossomed over the course of the show.

I have to come up with a nickname for Swayam and Aashi - SwaAshi? AaYam? For those of you who watched Dance India Dance, you are already familiar with Sneha Gupta. I was pleasantly surprised to see her as a D:3 cast member but then again she does make up for Vinti's absence. I've come to like all the Swayam-Aashi moments. For once there is a girl who is after Swayam rather than the other way around. As for TaaRey, Rey is back to being the angry young man and Taani just bows her head an goes with it. I don't see anything happening there any time soon.

So here is the snippet of today's episode...

Daily Update - D:3, December 19th, 2012

As I mentioned in yesterday's update, todays episode is all about misunderstandings. Fortunately, SwaRon aka Swayam and Sharon's love story is on track. In fact I hope that the new Sharon will be making an appearance soon. As per this video, Palki Malhotra, the creative head for Dil Dostii Dance has already found a suitable replacement for Sneha Kapoor. So let's all cross our fingers and hope that the new girl is able to create the same magic that Sneha was able to create with Shantanu.

Moving on with the synopsis of todays episode. Rey and Taani think long and hard about what happened between them in the rehearsal hall and the conversation they had in the fire escape. Rey comes to the sad conclusion that love and relationships are just not meant for him. The first girl he 'loved' left him ad hurt him deeply (even though it was not her fault!). The girl he has fallen for now thinks he used her to vent out his frustrations. The guy just has no luck! Just to put all this love and relationships related self-doubt in perspective, this is what happened to Rey in that very same fire escape a year ago...

I wonder why he didn't correct Taani when he had the chance and confessed his true feelings for her. As usual Rey stayed silent and is now depressed.  Taani on the other hand, thinks back to when Rey yelled at her when she confessed her feelings to him. Just as I suspected, she just cannot believe that Rey would ever develop any sort f feelings for her. But I'm glad that she did notice that he was hurt by what she said. Hopefully Taani will be able to extract Rey's true feelings for her sometime soon.

The boys elect Swayam to be their captain. Swayam is conflicted over the captaincy as he decided to join the team only to help out his friends. He feels like if he had a position that would make him in charge of the team, then he would be becoming just like his father. Rey is able to snap Swayam out of his thoughts and encourage him. Of course, ReYam share yet another bromantic moment. Awww! And with that here's a snippet of today's episode.

The Vamp - Komolika Basu

Komolika Basu was a character featured in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. As the title suggests, she is the vamp of the show. So without further adieu, let me introduce you to her...

We first see Komolika styled like the picture above. She has long hair which is braided and she always has a few hair loose towards her face. Whenever she is plotting the end of Prerna (the female lead), or just plotting in general, she can be seen twirling a few strands of her hair, just like she does in the picture above. She always wears sheer saris. Even though Komolika was the vamp, her hairstyle and sari style were the rage of the time! Over the course of the show, her sari blouse style varies and her hairstyle varies but the one thing that stays constant is her distinctive background music. For your listening pleasure I have included the video below. Watch as Komolika makes her grand entrance to her signature tune...

Enough about her styling and her tunes, as difficult it is to believe, there is more to her. Komolika's mother and Anurag's (the male lead) mother were friends. In fact, Komolika and Anurag even grew up together, which made them childhood friends. Anurag's mother secretly wanted Komolika to be her bahu and when she saw her after she 'grew up', she made her desire known to her son. Of course by that time, Anurag had already fallen for Prerna. But then again who would Komolika be if she let such a tiny little problem stand in her way. Komolika's sights were set on the Basu family money and business. She wanted it all and knew that the easiest way to get it would be to marry the head of the Basu empire, namely Anurag.

Komolika knew that she was beautiful and she could get the attention of any man she desired. So she decided to use her charm on Anurag and seduce him. When that didn't work she manipulated her way to Basu bahudom. All that while she pretended to be sympathetic to Anurag and Prerna's failed love story. After marriage her true colors are revealed to the Basu clan. Slowly but surely she manages to get hold of the Basu empire and manages to throw Anurag and the rest of the clan to the streets. She even aborts her and Anurag's child to make her plan to control the Basu empire a reality. She couldn't let a baby get in her way. Of course, Prerna comes to the rescue of the Basu clan and Anurag is finally able to get Komolika out of the picture. But alas like every Vamp, Komolika keeps reappearing throughout the series. She goes to great lengths to make the lives of Prerna and Anurag miserable. She even kidnaps their son and raises him as her own.

I've always wondered why Komolika always set her sights on destroying Prerna. She didn't really love Anurag, but yet wanted him to herself. She had no need for him, yet she craved his attention. She always knew that his heart belonged to Prerna, yet she tried to make him favor her. Now that I think about maybe she grew to love him or rather tolerate him. Or maybe she just wanted to have him because she knew that nothing else would make Prerna miserable than to see Anurag with her. Even though Kasautii was about the relationship of Prerna and Anurag, Komolika always managed to steal their thunder. Needless to say, Komolika was Urvashi Dholakia's ticket to fame. In fact, I have a very difficult time imagining her playing any other character!

No matter what you think about Komolika, she is one person every Anurag and Prerna supporter loved to hate!

Essential Characters In Every Saas-Bahu Saga...

For those who watch Saas-Bahu sagas, you can't help but notice that each show has the same set of main characters. The setting for the show may be different and in some cases the gender of the main characters may be different but they are still essentially the same. Most of the time the stories intersect as well. We'll leave that for another post. Let's focus on the main characters first. Think of any Saas-Bahu that you've watched while you're reading this list and I bet you will think of a character that matches the list I have come up with.

So without further adieu here they are:

Elderly Person: This person can be male or female. They are essentially the voice of reason in the show. They typically sit back and watch as mayhem takes over their household. All they have to offer the main character is courage and blessings. Just in case you forget, they are very 'elderly' and hence very fragile. They can't do much but they are always the sharpest tool in the entire household. An example of this type of character would be Baa from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhie Bahu Thi.

Dutiful Bahu/Beta: This person is typically the heart of the show. Most of the time it is the Bahu but sometimes it can be a combination of Beta and Bahu. They are the ones who make the world go round, literally. They are the center of the show's universe. They are smart and dutiful as their name suggests. They work hard so that their family has whatever they want no matter how irrational. They are also the ones who end up fighting the negative characters singlehandedly. In the beginning of the fight, they lose badly but then the Gods are with them and they prevail in the end.  An example would be Om and Parvati from Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii.

The Vamp aka Femme Fatale aka female villain: She is sly, conniving, beautiful and extremely over the top. She is always after the family money and will do anything to get her dirty hands on it. She also hates getting her hands dirty so she undoubtedly creates a plan that makes the family believe that the Dutiful Bahu/Beta are behind all the destruction. Another important characteristic to point out would be the fashion. Her clothes are over the top and often revealing. Her makeup is crazy to the point of being frightening. She also commands her own background music. And most of the time she has a distinctive mannerism or saying that she has to perform in every episode. An example would be Komolika Basu from Kasautii Zindagi Kay.

Check out my full post on The Vamp - Komolika Base here...

Maa or Saas: Depending of whether the show has a Dutiful Beta or Bahu, there is a Maa or a Saas. If the show has a Beta and a Bahu, then there will be both a Maa and a Saas, most of the time. This character has the weight of the world on her shoulders. She is responsible for the happiness of the household. She is a big proponent of customs and rites and makes sure that every occasion celebrated in the household is done as per the approval of her husband. She is a dutiful wife to the point of becoming a doormat in the face of her husband's desires. She never questions authority until the Dutiful Bahu or Beta give her courage to hold her head up high. An example would be Devyani Bhramanand Jhakkar from Maryada.

The Snake aka male villain: This character is capable of anything. He is will go against his own mother to get what he wants. He will cheat, fight, insult, steal and most importantly rape or torture to get his way. He first gains the trust of the household, then he begins to strike. At first no one knows that he is responsible, but then the Dutiful Beta or Bahu finds outs about his intentions and confronts him. Now this confrontation can end two ways: a challenge if it is the Dutiful Beta or a rape/molestation type thing if it is the Dutiful Bahu. As I said earlier, he would kill his own mother if she was in his way. An example would be Shyam Manohar Jha from Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?

Almost every successful Saas-Bahu saga has these characters present at one time or another. With the help of certain plot devices they can mix and match characters and create a crazy mix of Vamps and Snakes, Bahus and Betas and Maas and Saases. Everything is possible in the world of Saas-Bahu sagas. All you have to do is sit back and keep watching...

Daily Update - D:3, December 18th, 2012

Now that the romance is over, time for confusion and misunderstandings to step in - that's the theme of today's episode.

All the boys except Rey, of course, are injured and sore after their daily basketball practice. They are sitting in the locker room talking about how they are going to proceed. Just them Swayam informs them that Welham may be considering their impending match as a professional game rather than a 'friendly' match. Needless to say, the boys are disheartened by this and seriously doubt if they can match up to such a well-known team. In the middle of all this Rey realizes that Taani is avoiding him and goes to confront her. He finds her sitting in the projector room staring at a blank screen. He call her and she promptly ignores his call. Aha - Proof that she is in fact avoiding him!

Swayam and Aashi watch as the girls comfort the boys and tell them to be confident in their abilities. Aashi makes him realize that he he made the wrong decision by letting his anger towards his father get in the way of helping his friends. He apologizes to the boys and agrees to become their coach and captain. Rey is happy that the team will finally have a chance. ReYam share another lovely bromantic moment! Just then Taani appears and tells Rey that she wants to speak to him.

At first Rey states that he is glad that every thing is finally okay between then. Then Taani starts talking. She basically tells him that he used her because he was stressed and has a lot on hims mind. Needless to say, Rey is hurt by what she says. Sidenote - I predict this misunderstanding is going to last another ten or so episodes until Rey mans up and tells Taani that he in fact does like her...

Daily Update - D:3, December 17th, 2012

We finally get to witness a romantic moment between Rey and Taani. And how was it you ask? It was short and sweet and to the point. It was done well and I have to say Vrinda is a good actress. She really impressed me with her acting. Amar too did a good job but he has had plenty of practice with Shakti to perfect his romantic swag!

Let's move on with the synopsis shall we...

So Rey and Taani share a TaaRey moment together. Later that night Taani thinks about what happened. She questions herself about Rey's intentions - does he really like her? What was the reason behind the moment? Needless to say she is utterly confused. Who wouldn't be after this happened?

On the other hand, Rey wonders if he hurt Taani with his behavior. He wonders if he acted correctly. The next morning Swayam leaves early for college but not before assuring Taani that she can share her problems with her. Side note - Swayam's behavior is bothersome. He is shown working out and forgive me for saying this but he looks like Bruce Lee - a lean mean fighting machine! The boys try to 'purposely' hurt him just so he joins their basketball team but to no avail. Just then Rey steps in and diffuses the situation.

Swayam and Rey share a bromance moment after which Rey leaves. I have come to adore the ReyAm moments! They are so cute. Over time their friendship has grown tremendously. They understand each other better than any one else. They respect each other tremendously and work well as a team. Their friendship symbolizes the 'Dostii' in Dill Dostii Dance...

Daily Update - D:3, December 13th, 2012

Let me start with a spoiler alert - to all those who wanted to see the romance between Rey and Taani I'm sorry. You'll have to wait till next week to witness the romance.

After all this while, Rey and Taani finally talk about their feelings - be it cryptically. Taani calls Swayam and figures out that he is upset. When she asks him what is upsetting him, he tells her, "It's nothing" aka something major is bothering him. Slowly but surely she figures out that Rey talked to Swayam about basketball which is a touchy subject for Swayam.

Now I'd like to point out an inconsistency here - Swayam and the other Weakling boys had a basketball match with the Dazzler boys early on in the show. At that time Swayam didn't seem to have any problem so wonder if the creators are hoping the fans have forgotten about that little incident. Another thing which is inconsistent is that Swayam also participated in the Kabbadi match which was arranged by Karan Sir. Even though he let Sharon score a point, he did participate and had no problems.

I'm glad we are finally getting more insight into why Swayam is the way he is. He chooses to be a "Weakling" because that is the only way he can stand up to his father. He doesn't like to compete and see people around him losing just so that he can be "The Winner". I feel like a lot of people can relate to that feeling. Speaking from my experience, I can say that sometimes I just don't want to compete. It's tiring to have to prove your worth every single day and with every single thing that you undertake. Focusing on Swayam again, I have to say its surprising that he attributes everything that he does to Sharon. I feel like Sharon motivates him to be a better person but she is not the only reason why he the way he is. Here I'd like to point out that Kriya was the one who motivated Swayam to consider dancing in the Weaklings dance team. She was the one who gave him the confidence to come forward and show all of St. Louis his skills and talents. But then again that's just my humble opinion!

Taani comes to talk to Rey and whoosh Rey veers off the subject at hand. He is more concerned about Taani misunderstanding him and his intentions. Cue romantic music, the wind machine and some seriously emotional dialogues...

Daily Update - D:3, December 12th, 2012

Dil Dostii Dance is getting exciting this week. After a long wait it finally looks like romance is going to bloom between Rey and Taani. Although I've been a loyal Rey and Kriya fan, its about time Rey moved on with his love life. At first I didn't really like Taani for Rey but now I feel like her character has matured. She's not the girl who swoon at the sight of  her "Prince Charming" aka Rey. I hated the childishness the creators gave her character. She was a naive character who seemed silly and foolish. But now after the whole Shivam incident she has developed into a stronger character.

Moving along, the AVP has challenged the students of St. Louis College to play a "friendly" basketball game with the students of Welham College. Now Welham's happens to be the best college basketball team in the region while St. Louis doesn't even have a basketball team. Seems like the boys will have to pull up their socks and start working hard to be able to match up with the "best" team. Vicky takes charge of arranging training for the boys since he is the "Sports Captain". The AVP has also instructed Taani to support Rey with his mission of creating a basketball team worthy enough to face Welham's team. Rey, as usual, picks a fight with Taani and says many hurtful things to which Taani states that from now on all communication between them will be strictly professional.

Meanwhile, Sharon sends gifts to Rinni and Simmi but avoids Swayam's calls and messages. Swayam is worried and wonders what happened. He can't figure out why Sharon is suddenly avoiding him. He is also upset that because of personal reasons he cannot help the boys with their basketball practice. We finally get to know more about Swayam's family. Swayam's father is supposedly an all-rounder. He played sports in college - basketball and badminton. He wanted Swayam to be an athlete since he believes that is the only way Swayam can prove his worth. Unfortunately, Swayam despises competition and hence stays away from sports and anything competitive in general. This did help me understand why he always wanted both groups - Dazzlers and Weaklings to win every competition they entered in.

So without further adieu, here is a snippet of today's episode...
